Some Random Pictures

It's a lazy Saturday morning, so that means time to post some pictures!

Birdface!

9 months, and a rare moment of relaxation for her!

With "Dada" on Easter Sunday. I don't see the resemblance at all.

Fresh off a bath in Florida, Momma decides to play with her hairstyle.

The beach can wear a girl out. Daddy's chest makes a comfy bed.

Happy Saturday!

Updates

The weather in Memphis the last couple of weeks have been nothing short of a roller coaster. We had more snow Feb 10-11, and by the next week the highs were in the 70's. Momma and Daddy are having a tough time with this up-and-down weather - with sinus issues and sore throats. Thankfully, Nyla seems unaffected by this weather and keeps plodding along as cute as ever.

Nyla has her two bottom teeth starting to pop through. For the most part, she has been a trooper with all of this. There are days where she is clingy and fussy and refuses to play independently for more than 5 minutes, but alas, it is all ok, since we love to snuggle with our girl. She is still waking up once a night - between 3 and 5 - and will take a 6 oz bottle. We're not exactly sure if she really is hungry (because I have seen her sleep acrobatics firsthand - the girl moves a lot!) or if she is being super smart and realizing, "Hey, if I start talking and being noisy, I can get some food." Of course, as my mom told us this weekend, I slept through the night at 6 weeks, did it for a couple of months, and did not do it again... much like our sweet girl. (Ginny scowled at me when my mom told us this.)

Anyway, here are a couple of cell phone pictures from this weekend...

Who's that baby?

How much is that baby in the window? Oh wait, wrong song!
I love my sweet girl and it's obvious I can't get enough of her. She's fresh from the bath in these few pictures!

50+ year old dress

The dress Nyla has on is special. It's special because it was made for my mom, over 50 years ago. It's also special because all the girls in my family have had their picture taken in it. And of course we had to continue the tradition with Nyla posing for a few pictures in it. They turned out really sweet and I took probably 30, but I picked the best for you to see. So enjoy!

Visiting Daddy at Work

Last week for Valentine's we went downtown to visit Daniel. We sat in the back of the car (since it was sunny and warm), had a picnic lunch and enjoyed an hour together. It was fun times. Here are a couple of pictures from that day!

Dressing up for Church

We love our sweet church, Brunswick Baptist and enjoy going every Sunday.

When Nyla was first born we didn't attend much. We didn't feel comfortable taking her before she had her 2 months shots, as we've found quite a few people wanted to touch her and breath on her without washing their hands or they had been sick, etc. I'm a bit of a germaphobe!

So, we were sporadic in attending church. We did go without her the first few weeks, one of our mom's came and stayed with her, but even after her 2 months shots, we didn't go too often. But now in the last month, we've gotten back in the swing of things. I just love dressing her up for church too. Not that she cares, nor does anyone else, but while I still can choose her outfits, I do! I try and take a picture of her every Sunday in her sweet dresses too, because she tends to get her poop stains on everything, and that seems to happen after she's dressed. :) (She'll love me for this later in life). I do try and wait until after she goes to get her dressed, but sometimes that just doesn't work. So before we leave for church, I snap a picture, in case she does her business in the nursery during church.

The dress she wore Sunday was a beautiful smocked dress and I believe it was a hand-me-down from someone, but no idea who. It had some ruffles underneath the skirt to make it a little big and it was so cute. I'm not too girly when it comes to dresses, I don't love them, so this dress is as girly as it gets with her. My usual attire for her is pretty casual. I love dresses on her, just more casual ones. I do love the smocked, but that's as dressy as it goes around her.

So here are a couple of pictures from Sunday.

Funny, chunky face. I love her!

Sweet girl!

28 Weeks Old

My Spirited Angel is 28 weeks old today. And just like last week, she's grabbing for the sign. She is more curious everyday.

She is in the beginning stages of crawling too, which is quite the adventure and excitement to watch! She is lifting on her knees and rocking back and forth most of the time. Today she got up on her knees and took 2 crawls then fell on her belly and fussed. She wants to go somewhere so bad. I love that she's getting more mobile. I'm not necessarily ready for it with the house, but that's on my list this week to get done. 1. Move all chemicals from under the kitchen sink to the hall bathroom, top shelf closet. 2. Close off all the bedroom doors in the back so she can't go where I don't want her. We've tried baby gates, but they don't fit our 1975 house well. It's hard to explain, but they don't fit properly. We tried 2 brands and both are no good. So we're forgoing the baby gates and we'll just close doors and we'll figure it out as we go.

Here are her 28 week pictures. She's so much fun!

Grabbing for the sign, as usual!

She was so serious for some reason. I think she's tired.

Smiling at Daddy, of course!

Another smile, yay!

"Daddy, I found where you tried to hide the sign!"

Have a great week! Thanks for following us!!!

Black and White Pictures

I'm a goof and didn't realize my digital camera can also take black and white pictures! If I had known this, I would be taking WAY more black and white pictures, they are my favorites.
So here's a few black and white shots from the digital camera. You'll be seeing more of them now that I know my camera is capable!

Mommy and Nyla

Sweet cheeks. The only bad thing, you can't see her beautiful baby blue eyes!

Sweet baby!!!

27 Weeks Old

Yesterday Nyla turned 27 weeks old. And taking pictures was quite the experience, as you'll soon see. She is grabbing for everything now. I couldn't put the sign down even for a second without her grabbing it and putting it in her mouth. She is too goofy!

Before I brought the sign into the picture.

I'm holding it and there she is trying to grab it.

Got it!

And she's taking a bite out of the paper. I had to dig it out of her mouth before she swallowed it. Not that it would hurt her, but I didn't want her choking on it, if that's possible.
